Series completed & exhibited in 2019 as an investigation into portraiture. It was born out of a need to abandon old habits and a desire to create with an unfamiliar palette. The process evolved into a wide exploration of line, shape and colour emoted by the chosen subjects, with each piece bringing forth its own unique & unexpected solution. This in turn gave rise to the realisation that each portrait was a reflection of each relationship and of personal reflections. This evolution of process could be best surmised in the quote below.  “Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter.” Oscar Wilde
