Matthew is an Australian artist who works out of his studio space in the Melbourne suburb of Balaclava. Traversing the fields of painting, drawing, ceramics and mural work in his practice, he attempts to establish a visual narrative that explores the themes of introspection, spirituality, self determination, sexuality and gender and how these contribute to forming our own personal identity. Utilizing vibrant, bold and expressive lines and colors these images depict dream like & autobiographical stories that invite the viewer to immerse themselves in spaces of nostalgia, contemplation and mysticism.

Matthew has a background in Graphic Design & Illustration and has recently expanded his practice to incorporate more expressive mediums, predominantly focusing on large scale paintings on canvas that further investigate color and form through the contemplation of the metaphysical human experience.
